Multimeters were never designed to test automotive circuits. They were built for the telecommunication industry. Although they’ve adapted to function for automotive testing, they’re not the best tool. It’s like using a hacksaw to remove an axle. It will work, but there are better options. That’s why we invented DYVO, a meter specially made for testing automotive circuits. All components on a vehicle have a power and ground. DYVO tests both at the same time. It’s a better way to diagnose.

What are loaded voltage drops?

Simply put, it’s when you force current to flow in a circuit, loading it down, and then test how much voltage is lost in the process. It’s the best way to find electrical problems. Traditional meters can’t load circuits. They are called “static testers”. They’ll show voltage is present, when it really isn’t, known as ghost voltage.

DYVO is a “dynamic tester” and forces current to flow when testing circuits. This causes an electrical load on the circuit. The added stress uncovers issues that other meters miss, including: resistance, opens, and shorts.
